State Drama! MEGHAN AND I GOT THIRD PLACE IN STATE FOR OUR PANTOMIME. THAT'S RIGHT, out of the ENTIRE STATE OF IDAHO HIGH SCHOOLERS, Meghan and I have the third best one! We got medals. We were also the only ones from our school to medal. Anyway, pictures and story!

01.
Wednesday night Meghan and Courtney picked me up at 8:00 and we got Lindsey, then we drove to Meghan's to spend the night to do girly things like eat cheez-its and giggle and hold burping contests. This is Lindsey with Meghan's cat Buddy.

02.
Courtney on the phone. Later she went out in the hall to talk to her boyfriend and that was when the burping contest started. I had the wall-shaking type burps, while Meghan's were more frequent but shallow.

03.
And Meghan clutched the cheez-its to her bosom and fiercely pointed with her index finger to the lettering on the back which read "GET YOUR OWN BOX"

04.
The next day we got to the school around 7:50 and left for State around 8:20 (Pacific Time). Our first stop was at the bottom of White Bird Pass where we had lunch around 12:30. This is Meghan and Courtney in the bathroom stalls at the gas station.

05.
Back on the bus: Meghan and Courtney.

06.
Lindsey and moi. Lindsey was a wonderful bus buddy, by the way.

08.
We got to Twin Falls around 7:00 (Mountain Time). First we went swimming in the hotel pool, then cleaned up and went to Target. There Courtney found a size 42DD bra which obviously could double as a hat. At Target we bought matching nightgowns which we ending up wearing most of the weekend and taking modeling pictures when back at the hotel.

09.
My modeling shot. Roar.

10.
Courtney and Meghan also bought matching robes.

The next day we went to the school to perform the first two rounds for each category. I did take pictures of this day, but I'm way to tired to look through and edit all of them when I'll be doing that tomorrow in yearbook. We didn't get back to the hotel until 11:30 because the school was running late putting up the results for Technical theater (which only did one round the first day, to determine who would go on to finals the next day). In the hotel room we jumped on the bed and rolled around eating chocolate until Mrs. Cooke said we should go to bed. Peh. This is Courtney and Meghan jumping on the beds.

16.
Lindsey and me. It's all artsy :p

17.
The next day we did our third round and then had two hours to kill time before they posted who was going on to Semi-Finals, so Courtney's biological dad (who flew in from Washington) took us for breakfast and I got hot chocolate.

18.
Courtney and her father. This was taken right before she got a call from Lindsey, who was still at the school because she had to do her solo round (Meghan and I are, of course, in ensembles and Courtney was in an ensemble with some guys. Ensemble and Solo rounds are staggered), apparently they were holding an emergency assembly at the school because some kid put poo in the hallway and a dollar on top of it to see who would pick it up. Yeah. We missed that brilliant display of maturity and I ate French toast.

19.
When we got back, we still had a long while before they posted Semis, so I took a nap, and later Lindsey and Meghan joined in, though Meghan only stayed for the pictures. Lindsey napped, though.

20.
So. They finally posted Semi-Finalists. And as you can tell from my expression in the picture, we made it! Courtney and Lindsey didn't though, but for their first year of Competitive Drama, they accomplished a lot by just making it to State.

21.
Meghan was excited, too, of course. DOUBLE-ENTERED IN SEMI-FINALS.

22.
This is us in the bathroom. We had to change our clothes again for another round. We ended up making it to finals with both of our pieces and from there we got THIRD PLACE IN ENSEMBLE PANTOMIME. Yes, we both got medals. So freaking awesome. I'm not sure what place we got with our Ensemble Humorous, it was in the top eight (SINCE WE WERE FINALISTS), but not 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Maybe next year.

23.
In victory, Meghan and I bought a pizza. We originally ordered a medium cheese, but apparently they had a large cheese already to go, so we just bought that. We didn't open the box until we got to the bus and found that it was cut all crazy. The green lines are my visual aid so you can see how it was sliced. I'm not even kidding. Isn't that weird?!

24.
At the end of the night, Courtney mixed her Rockstar energy drink with her lime slushie. Apparently it tasted like crap, but she drank it anyway.

Overall, Moscow did alright. This year we had a total of ten people reach finals (three tech entries, two pantomime, and one ensemble humorous) while last year we only had four people reach finals (one tech entry, one solo audition, one solo serious, and one ensemble humorous. The solo pieces were done by the same girl). Mmhmm. So yeah. MEGHAN AND I GOT THIRD PLACE AT STATE. Which is really, really good. We got home at 8:00 (Pacific Time) after driving ALL NIGHT LONG in the snow and ice and now I'm going to take a nap before starting on homework due tomorrow. It's taken me an hour to write this post, by the way.

I would like to correct you. Not all the high schools were there. Nor did all the high schools know about it. Everyone east of Moscow didnt know. SO THERE!!!!!

(I hope you know Im not really making fun of you.)

Fine, allow me to correct myself: all high schools that matter :p

Just kidding. All the high schools know about it, but they don't necessarily participate.

Oh yes, by the way, Orofino was at Districts. So was Kamiah and Kooskia. They didn't do very well at Districts, but THEY ARE EAST OF MOSCOW. SO THERE!!!!!

"It's taken me an hour to write this post"

It's funny you said that because I was thinking as I looked at the photos and the accompanying explanations that this must have taken a while to put together. Thanks for putting the time into it. Now you have the memories forever.

You look so gorgeous in that modeling shot.
