Seattle Trip

  • Feb. 27th, 2007 at 7:30 PM
A little late in getting this up, but oh well!

Mom and I left after school with the dogs on Thursday the 15th for Seattle to visit my brother and dad. The ride over was uneventful and around 9:00 Mom dropped me off at Jamie's apartment. We played on the Wii.

The next morning when he had to get up for work, I played on the Wii while he got ready.

01.
Miiiii! :D

We drove to his work and about an hour later, Mom picked me up and we went to Crossroads. We went to the bookstore, Michaels, and looked in other shops. Jamie came met us in the food court for lunch.

02.
If this doesn't look familiar to you, you didn't read my Seattle Trip post back in June ;) I love love love this soup a lot.

03.
Part-way through the meal, I dropped one chopstick on the floor and Jamie made fun of me. So I proved I was cool and ate with only one chopstick!

Jamie.

05.
Then Jamie left and I went to the bathroom. I love my outfit. (GNOME SHIRT)

06.
Then Mom and I went to Tuesday Mornings and saw a bunch of weird stuff. Like this Santa in a kilt. And because I took this picture, I'm going to regret for the rest of my life that I didn't buy this Santa. Next was Goodwill and I got a couple shirts, jewelry case, and a bag to use as my camera bag (pictures of those things later).

07.
THEN we went and got BUBBLE TEA. BUBBLE TEA, THE LOVE OF MY DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. SO YUMMY AND DELICIOUS. (I got watermelon flavored. You can see part of my camera bag in my lap.)

08.
Back at Jamie's apartment and waiting for dinner plans, I took artsy pictures of the wet trees.

09.
We ended up eating at this Thai food restaurant with Jamie's friend Chris and Juliann. They are married.

10.

11.
On Saturday, Mom, Dad, and I hopped in the car and went to ACTUAL Seattle.

12.
YAY Space Needle! We didn't go there this time, though.

13.
We went to the Curiosity Shop and looked at mummies and shrunken heads and Dad tried on some crazy glasses. I got a neat hair stick and an Italian charm of the Space needle.

14.
Then we walked to the Elliot Bay Book Co., which we were told was a lot like Powell's in Portland. Elliot Bay Book Co smelt like Powell's, looked kind of like Powell's, but WASN'T Powell's. The books were all normal priced, even second hand books weren't very cheap.

15.
FIND MY PARENTS.

16.
For lunch we went to the Spaghetti Factory, where I took more artsy photos.

17.

18.
My beverage. Not as good as bubble tea, but STILL AMAZING. After lunch we drove back to Jamie's apartment and they left me there to take a nap. That night Jamie and I went to Chris and Juliann's for dinner (vegetarian lasagna, YUM) and games. I beat them at Family Business 3 out of 3 times.

19.
This is their cat, Peter.

20.
This is their cat, Oscar.

21.
On Sunday, Mom and I took the dogs on a walk around the parking lot and when I picked Lily up to go back inside, she looked SO CUTE. And I love that jacket.

Mom and I then got donuts for breakfast/lunch, went scrapbook shopping at Ben Franklin's. We went to another Tuesday Mornings where I got a MOOSE, and a fabric shop where I got a few things to spice up my jean jacket even more.

22.
For dinner that night, we all went to Outback. There was a 20 minute wait and Dad "helped" me take a picture in the low light by bringing out his flashlight. :)

23.
The next day, Dad and Jamie went to work and Mom and I packed up the dogs to go back home. Leo was bored.

24.
The pass was kind of scary.

25.
Lily was terribly concerned.

26.
We stopped at some warehouse that had bathrooms, candy, fruit, antiques, and coffee. Who doesn't want to drink green stuff?

27.
When we stopped to get gas later and Mom went to the bathroom inside, Leo started getting separation anxiety.

28.
My loot from the trip. The black thing on top of the jewelry case is a hat.

29.
Scrapbooking and crafting things.

30.
The moose! :D

31.
This is my camera bag. It's a pretty important find. It cost only $14. I checked the zipper in the car after we bought it and the pull said "Jack Georges". My family and I aren't to hip to the groove on bag designers, so we looked it up online. THIS is the bag (in a different color, obviously). For those to lazy to click the link, it costs $395. Holy WOW, right?

The one in the bathroom, if you fuzz your eyes a lot, you look like a crucifix.
You should sell your new bag on ebay!

Why would I want to sell it on eBay?

Because you could make like a $300 profit...seems like a good idea, I think.

I see Cunt! I hope you enjoy it. I loved it, except for the part where she puts forth the proposition that women need to protect themselves against rape.. it leans a lot towards victim blaming (ie- don't wear these clothes, don't walk alone) which made me uneasy. It might be true, but may lead to someone blaming themselves that they were raped, which I disliked.

All in all.. a lovely read.

I recommend that book to people all the time. Girls seem to think I'm crazy for being a guy who read it.

They're the ones who are crazy! Boys who read feminist literature (or any for that matter) = instant love. I commend you :)

I recently read a book I think you'd enjoy: The Story of V. It's about the attitudes of cultures towards vaginas throughout history :)

The only thing I didn't like about that book was the fact that it didn't mention rape. It went on and on about how a woman's vagina controls a lot of sexual intercourse and whether or not there will be conception, that it is largely up to the woman's body to become pregnant or not...that whole chapter the question in my mind was, "What about rape?"

I used to live in Kirkland (right near Seattle), but I was a baby (under 2). I don't remember either, but we visit all the time. I LOVE it.

The kind of bubble tea that my mom and I get is kind of like a fruit smoothie but with slightly different texture and it tastes WAY better. The "bubbles" are tapioca. This article explains it better :)

Damn, what I got out of this post was:
1. I want to go to Seattle
2. I want to read all your buttons on your jean jacket
3. I want to try bubble tea
