I am all sorts of mad at myself. Some of you know that I broke a lot of bones before I turned 13, and up until today I hadn't broken any since grade school--in fact the last time I broke a bone was in April 2001, maybe it's my lucky month? It was SUNNY and ABOVE 40 degrees for most of this afternoon, so some friends and I went test out the adult swings they newly installed at a park near campus...yeah...I guess I got a little exuberant and I jumped out of the swing intending to land on my feet, but I kind of rolled.
Aaaah, I can't do this! I was totally intending to do a second April Fool's Day prank since I knew that most of my long time readers would be expecting one, so I decided to do a "fake" prank and a "real" one, yesterday's pregnancy post being the fake one and this being the one intended to fool people, but most of the people that commented on the post yesterday said they were fooled :p I went to the hospital today and got my mom to pull her networking strings so I could pose with some nurses in front of machinery. I was going to put an elaborate story behind the cut about how this was taking forever to type with one hand and I was so upset about not being able to hold my camera properly etcetera, etcetera...but I feel bad...I have a guilt complex or something. Happy April Fools!

DAMN it. Youtube Rickroll'd me AND YOU got me TWICE.
Anywho, I ran across another interesting DIY trick and I thought of you. I know that you said that you wanted to keep things pretty professional looking in your choice of materials, but honestly this is pretty ingenious. So, you know that 13 dollar ...thing that I showed you? I found out that you can diffuse your on camera flash for free more or less with a clear film canister...

I don't know about you, but I'm SO making one of these.
Cool part is, I read a bit more into it, and there are these little swatch books of colored gels and light filters that you can get for free from companies with hundreds of little colored swatches on them. They fit perfectly inside the containers, so you can get the same effect as a colored filter for your flash.
